Daddy/Daughter Dance

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, and the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

Luci and Audrey, let me just say that you girls are so blessed to have a dad that loves you unconditionally.  He would do anything in the world for you guys.  And, what a great example of a man that you can trust and talk to, and who will always have your best interests at heart.  He loves that he has two little girls to play with.  I pray that as you guys get older, you will look to him as an example of what to look for in your life mates.  You might do as good, but you'll never find anyone better than your dad.

This year, both of you girls were able to go to the Daddy/Daughter Dance.  Audrey, you were the most excited because you didn't get to go last year.  Mimi bought both of you girls new, matching dresses so you would look your best for your dad.

You met daddy's cousin, Ken and his daughter, Carsyn, and Mr. Ellis, and his daughter and Audrey's best friend, Isabel,  to eat dinner and then y'all went to the dance together.  You know the old saying, "The more, the merrier."  Daddy said you guys had a lot of fun with them.

Of course, Luci, being the "tomboy" you are, couldn't leave, even in a fancy dress, without shooting some hoops first...

We were very fortunate that Mrs. Suzanne volunteers every year at the dance, and she was able to send me a couple of pictures of you guys "gettin' down..." Notice, the new hairbows are nowhere to be found!

I know you had a wonderful time with your dad, and that he treated you like princesses.  I only wish they had something for moms and sons.  Oh, well, there is definitely a special relationship with dads and daughters.  I'm thankful for a husband that puts us first. Our home is his haven, and he can't wait to get home to us every night (even if it gets a little loud sometimes).  He loves to spend time with us and takes every opportunity to be involved in the lives of you children.  It probably doesn't mean a lot now, because you don't know the difference, but as you get older, you'll definitely see what a treasure the Lord has given us in your dad.
