Musicals

"I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.  I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.  You said, ' I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.'  The heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness, too, in the assembly of the holy ones.  For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?  Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?  In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.  O Lord God Almighty, who is like you?  You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you."
Psalm 89:  1-8

This has been a music- filled week for The Paige Pack.  The children's musical, "Angel Alert," was Sunday night, and the Kindergarten musical, "Don't Be Scared,"  was Wednesday night.

JD, Jacob and Luci:  you did an amazing job in "Angel Alert."  I think it was the best children's musical I have ever seen.  Not to mention that you all had parts this year.

I absolutely loved the theme surrounding this production.  Guys, this is what the angels had been waiting on...announcing the birth of the King- our Messiah.  They had longed for this day forever and it had finally come.  It just gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

JD, you did a wonderful job as Joseph.  Your harmony was fantastic.  I can't believe how hard you had worked and practiced for this song.  It really showed.  You made a perfect Joseph.

Luci and Jacob, you guys were on the angel alert team.  You did a great job running up to the front of the stage getting ready to salute when the Savior of the World was born.

It really was a magical night and you guys gave a wonderful praise offering to our Lord.  I know he was smiling down from heaven as all of the children sang to Him.  The songs were just beautiful and the scenery was amazing.  Your cousin, Ivy, was Harpo.  He did so great, too.  He was a really "cool" angel.  I was so proud of all of you guys!

These were the best pictures that I could get.  Our church does a wonderful job emphasizing worship.  What you guys were doing was giving a sacrifice of praise to Jesus Christ and for that reason, they really don't like for parents, grandparents, etc. to take pictures during the performance.  They don't want the praise to be on you guys, but on the only one worthy of our praise.

I did get some cute shots after the program, though:

Now, Audrey, we wouldn't want to leave out your special night.  You sang your heart out to the Lord in "Don't Be Scared."  Wow, what a thought.  The Bible tells us over 170 times:  Fear Not or Don't Be Afraid.  That's a lesson for children and adults alike.

You two were cracking me up. Y'all couldn't get over the fact that you had on the same pair of shoes.  It was so cute I had to take a picture of the matching shoes...

Here you are with some of your friends...

"There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2: 8-11

I am so proud that our family is in a church where you guys can sing in a choir.  It's such a wonderful way to learn about our God and to learn scripture.  These memories will be with you guys forever.  Praise Be to God!!

"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.  Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.  They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness.  For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.  Indeed, our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel."
Psalm 89: 14-18
