Psalm of Thanks

My sweet babies...this is a lot of scripture, I know.  But, giving the Lord thanks is all that comes to mind for this season of the year.  Of course, we thank Him everyday for his many blessings...both big and small this year.  Above all, I am thankful for three things the most.  The first being the salvation that the Lord so freely gave.  Why he loves us so, I'll never understand.  I thank Him secondly (is that a word?) for my most precious husband.  There are no words that could describe how I feel about him.  After fourteen years of marriage, he still takes my breath away.  He calls me his crown, and there is no higher compliment than that.  I'm also thankful for you, my sweet, precious children.  There was a time when we weren't sure that we would be able to have children, and the Lord blessed us with four in less than four years.  Wow!

This scripture seemed appropriate for the Thanksgiving season... It's a lot, I know, but bear with me!
This is David's Psalm of Thanks...

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done!
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wondrous acts.
Glory in His Holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always."
 I Chronicles 16: 8-11

"Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim His salvation day after day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.
For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him, strength and joy in His dwelling place.
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength, ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name.
Bring an offering and come before Him; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.
Tremble before Him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, 'The Lord reigns!'
Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth."

Now, sweet ones, here are David's wonderful words of Thanksgiving...

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
Cry out, 'Save us, O God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise.'
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting."
I Chronicles 16: 23-36

If we have nothing else in the world to be thankful for (and that will never be the case), we can thank the Lord that His love endures forever.  His compassion is never ending and he loves us with an unfailing love.  Just take a moment and think about that.
We can also be thankful the God ALWAYS keeps his promises.  He will never fail us- never!

I love you all so much, and I am so looking foward to this Thanksgiving with all of you.
